Hey, I have a question for you mommies out there. Do the sizes on baby clothes really mean anything? I know Delight is a chubby little thing, but I have to assume that the age listed on clothes runs a little small. She's not quite 3 months yet and she's already out grown all her 3 month clothes and most of her 3-6 month clothes. Her onsies are 6-9mo and fit her just right, her socks are 6-18 mo and fit perfect, and she even wears 6-12 and 12 month pants! So is that typical and if your baby did that do they slow down and start wearing their age eventually? I'm really hoping so because I've got so much cute 12 month summer clothes for her that I really want her to wear!

Nikki,
I'm not a momma yet but I do know the answer to your question. Yes, it is totally normal for Delight to be wearing bigger than her actual months. Children's clothes are like adults some are smaller in a size you wear then some are just right ect... But by a year old she will start tapering off since she will be crawling/walking about that time. Then she might stay in a size for awhile but likely when she is a year old she won't be in 12 month clothes. But again very typical for a healthy baby! Don't be concerned at all and you and Delight are so beautiful in your new profile pic.
FYI...this is Janelle not Justin...:)
hey nikki... i hate to use the cliche "every baby is different", but they are. as long as she's thriving okay (and she is) :) - no worries! i've got to remind myself that amia is her own person and will grow as she will. you are doing a great job and delight is perfect!
hey
i agree with the others your baby will grow at her own little speed. cail was always small and wore three month clothes till she was about five months old. she is still wearing some 18 months stuff and now her pants are too big because she doesn't have a nappy on. averie on the other hand is already growing out of 6-9 and can wear 12 month pants. they do slim down and stretch out when they start walking and moving and stuff. just use the dresses as shirts for the summer!!! do you use cloth diapers? i find a big size difference when i do because they are more bulky. anyway keep feeding her and loving her and if she does grow out of all those cute clothes just means more garage sales and great deals!!!!!!! ;)
My kids always wore bigger sizes than they we in age!!! Don't worry. She is perfect!! Cyndi
To sum it up...nope, the sizes don't mean anything. I found this to be true as well. There are some things now that are 6m Sam still fits in and others that are 12 month and are way to small. It can be frustrating at times. I had some really cute baby outfits that he out grew before I got a chance to try them on him, due to what the tags said.
